Sell surplus wire from data center builds
Data halls are cable-dense, and a design change can strand a whole pallet.
A data center build consumes feeders, branch circuits, grounding and an enormous amount of low voltage cabling. Because the design is locked early and revised late, surplus tends to arrive in clean, tagged lots: XHHW feeders, MC cable for the white space, tray cable for the electrical rooms, and boxes of communication cable.
We buy that surplus, including grounding conductors, bare copper and the shielded cable that comes out of a reconfiguration. Full reels are the easiest to quote; partial reels are fine when the footage is marked.

What data centers typically hold
- XHHW and THHN feeders, copper and aluminum
- MC cable in 12/2, 10/2 and larger assemblies
- Bare copper and green grounding conductors
- Tray and control cable from electrical rooms
- Cat6, Cat6A, coax and fiber-adjacent low voltage cable
- Medium voltage cable from service and switchgear feeds
What to send for a quote
- Reel tags, especially for feeder and medium voltage cable
- Whether the lot is white-space or electrical-room material
- Footage per reel and how many reels are on each pallet
- Site access rules, escort requirements and dock hours
- Whether the material is still in a laydown yard
Questions from data centers
Do you buy grounding and bare copper from data center work?
Yes. Bare copper, green grounding conductors and bonding jumpers are purchased alongside the power cable.
Can you collect from a laydown yard?
Yes, and it is often the easiest pickup on a data center site. Note whether the yard is fenced and who controls access.
Is plenum cable purchased?
Yes. CMP-rated communication and fire alarm cable is quoted separately from riser-rated stock.
