Sell surplus wire from utility contractors
Utility reels are the highest-value surplus on most sites, and the easiest to misprice.
Utility work is ordered in long lengths against a route that can change. When a run is shortened or a subdivision phase is delayed, the leftover reel is often a full or nearly full medium voltage drum with its factory tag intact — the single most quotable item a contractor can hold.
We buy 5 kV through 69 kV cable, URD and USE-2, concentric neutral and tape shield constructions, and service entrance cable. Send the tag first: voltage class, insulation, conductor size, shield type and footage decide the offer.

What utility contractors typically hold
- 15 kV, 25 kV and 35 kV XLPE and EPR cable
- Concentric neutral and copper tape shield reels
- URD and USE-2 underground distribution cable
- SER, SEU and service entrance cable
- Bare copper and grounding conductors
- Cut lengths from route changes
What to send for a quote
- The factory tag, flat and in focus
- Voltage class, insulation and shield type
- Measured length for cut lengths, not reel capacity
- Whether the cable was ever energized or buried
- Reel diameter and weight for transport planning
Questions from utility contractors
Do you buy a single medium voltage reel?
Yes. One tagged 15 kV reel can be worth a scheduled pickup on its own.
How are cut lengths priced?
On measured length, not the original reel capacity. Tell us the actual length and how it is coiled or supported.
What if the tag is gone?
Jacket print and cable construction markings can still identify the cable, but the offer will be more conservative without the tag.
