Sell slow-moving wire stock from a distributorship
Counter stock that will not turn is capital sitting on a rack.
A distributorship's surplus is different from a contractor's. It is usually full reels with factory tags, in colors or constructions that stopped moving when a spec changed or a line was discontinued. The material is clean and documented, which makes it straightforward to quote.
We buy slow-moving and discontinued building wire, tray cable, control cable and medium voltage stock. Partial reels that came back from a job are considered too, as long as the footage is marked or measurable.

What distributors typically hold
- Discontinued colors and odd constructions
- Full reels with damaged or missing tags
- Overstock on standard THHN, XHHW and SER
- Tray, control and instrumentation cable that will not turn
- Medium voltage reels from a cancelled utility order
- Returned partial reels from contractor accounts
What to send for a quote
- An inventory list with construction, size and footage
- Photos of tags where the print is unclear
- Which items are full factory reels versus returns
- Rack locations and whether a forklift is on site
- Whether the lot is one pickup or several over time
Questions from distributors
Do you buy an entire discontinued line?
Yes, when the constructions and sizes are listed. A line buy is quoted as one lot rather than reel by reel.
Can you quote from an inventory spreadsheet?
That is the fastest path for a distributor. Paste the construction, size and footage into the description field, or attach a photo of the report.
Do you buy reels with damaged tags?
Yes. The jacket print identifies the product when the tag is gone, so photograph the conductor print instead.
