Sell XHHW and XHHW-2 Cable in Tennessee
Cross-linked polyethylene for wet, cold and industrial runs.
XHHW-2 is what specifiers reach for when a run is wet, buried, or sitting in a cold plant. The cross-linked polyethylene insulation handles moisture and heat better than thermoplastic, so it shows up on industrial, institutional and utility-adjacent projects across Tennessee.
We buy surplus XHHW and XHHW-2 in copper and aluminum, 600-volt and 1 kV constructions, single conductor and multi-conductor assemblies. New surplus, unused overstock and cancelled-project inventory are all in scope, on full reels or partial.
What we buy in this category

Reading the reel
XHHW-2 and XHHW are often confused on a tag. Photograph the jacket print and the reel label together and we can separate them; the -2 rating changes how a buyer can use the cable, and it changes the quote.
Questions about XHHW / XHHW-2
How is XHHW different from THHN?
XHHW uses cross-linked polyethylene insulation rather than thermoplastic with a nylon jacket. It is rated for wet locations at 90°C, which is why industrial and underground work favors it.
Do you buy direct-burial XHHW?
Yes, including sunlight-resistant and direct-burial rated constructions. Note the rating from the jacket print if you have it.
Can you quote from a photo of the reel?
A clear photo of the reel tag plus the jacket print is usually enough to identify size, metal and voltage. We confirm footage and condition before pickup.
What about 1 kV XHHW?
One-kilovolt XHHW is purchased alongside 600 V material. Put the voltage on the form so it is not priced as standard building wire.
