What we buy
Wire and cable, in the constructions that actually show up
Eleven categories cover almost every surplus reel in a Tennessee shop or yard. If your cable is not listed, describe it on the quote form — the list is a starting point, not a limit.
THHN / THWN
The everyday building wire that fills most surplus racks.
What we buy →XHHW / XHHW-2
Cross-linked polyethylene for wet, cold and industrial runs.
What we buy →MC & AC Cable
Armored cable from fit-out work, sold by the coil.
What we buy →Tray & VFD Cable
Tray-rated and drive cable from industrial projects.
What we buy →SER / SEU / URD
Service entrance and underground cable, reel by reel.
What we buy →Bare Copper
Bare, insulated and grounding copper in any length.
What we buy →Welding & SOOW
Flexible cord and welding lead from shop and site.
What we buy →Control & Instrument
Multi-conductor control and shielded instrument cable.
What we buy →5 kV – 69 kV
The heavy reels that need a real buyer, not a scrap price.
What we buy →Aluminum Cable
AA-8000 aluminum, from feeders to service cable.
What we buy →Low Voltage
Structured cabling, fire alarm and Class 2 wiring.

How it works
Three steps from reel to offer
-
Send the details
Reel tag photos, jacket print, footage, metal and the ZIP where the wire sits. A phone photo of the tag does most of the work.
-
Get a real offer
We read the construction, size and condition, then come back with a number or one specific question. No obligation to accept.
-
We collect it
Pickup is scheduled around your dock, gate hours or plant access rules. You do not crate, palletize or ship anything unless freight is easier.
Sizes and conditions
From a single coil to a full truckload
Surplus does not arrive in neat quantities. A service upgrade leaves two partial reels of 4/0; a cancelled data hall leaves a pallet of XHHW; a plant turnaround leaves shielded VFD cable that still carries its factory tag.
All of it is worth a conversation when the details are clear. Common sizes we purchase:

New surplus, unused overstock, cancelled-project inventory, full reels, partial reels, wooden spools, coils and cartons are all in scope. Used cable is considered when the condition is disclosed honestly — a jacket with heat damage is still worth something, just not the same as new stock.

Who sells to us
The people holding the reels
Electrical contractors, distributors and wholesalers, manufacturers, industrial plants, data centers, utility contractors, power plants, hospitals, universities, chemical and pharmaceutical facilities, construction and demolition contractors, and warehouses.
Electrical contractors
Every closed job leaves something behind. The trick is knowing which leftovers are worth a quote.
What they hold →Distributors and wholesalers
Counter stock that will not turn is capital sitting on a rack.
What they hold →Industrial plants
Plants buy cable by the project and dispose of it by the pallet.
What they hold →Data centers
Data halls are cable-dense, and a design change can strand a whole pallet.
What they hold →Utility contractors
Utility reels are the highest-value surplus on most sites, and the easiest to misprice.
What they hold →Power plants
Outage work is documented work, and documented cable quotes faster.

Seller guides
Read the cable before you sell it
Short, practical guides on reel tags, footage estimates, cable constructions and what actually moves the offer.
How to read a reel tag
What a cable reel tag tells you: construction, size, voltage, footage and standards.
Read the guide →Estimating footage on a reel
Estimate remaining cable footage from wraps and barrel diameter, or from reel weight.
Read the guide →THHN vs XHHW
THHN and XHHW-2 compared: insulation, temperature and wet ratings, where each is used, and how to identify which one is on your reel.
Read the guide →What affects wire value
Seven factors that decide what surplus cable is worth: metal, construction, size, footage, condition, documentation and logistics.

What sellers ask first
What kind of electrical wire do you buy in Tennessee?
Copper and aluminum building wire, THHN, THWN-2, XHHW-2, MC and AC cable, tray and VFD cable, SER, SEU, URD and USE-2, bare copper and grounding wire, welding cable, SOOW, control and instrumentation cable, communication, fire alarm and low voltage cable, and 5 kV through 69 kV medium and high voltage cable.
Do you buy partial reels and leftover wire?
Yes. Partial reels are the normal case, not the exception. Send the footage on the tag or your best estimate, and note whether the wire has been pulled or installed.
How do I know what my wire is worth?
You do not need to price it. Send the reel tag, the jacket print and the footage. Value comes from the metal, the construction, the size and the condition, and a buyer can read all four from those details.
Do you pick up, or do I have to ship?
Pickup is scheduled across Tennessee for lots that justify a trip, and freight can be arranged for large lots. Tell us the ZIP, the loading conditions and the approximate weight on the quote form.
Do you buy equipment as well as wire?
No. We buy wire and cable only. Transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, chillers, bus plugs and general machinery are outside our scope.
